Relevant Experience

Gayl joined Dulwich College (Singapore) in June 202,  working with the string orchestra programme in the Junior School. Gayl earned a PhD in usic education from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music (USA) with a specialization in string music education, and a minor in educational psychology and special education. While in the United States, she immersed herself in variety of teaching environments. She has taught at the collegiate level, pre-college music programs, underserved communities, and has worked with students with special needs. She has also volunteered at the Ohio State School for the Blind teaching visually impaired students to play the violin. As a researcher, Gayl has presented research on music perception and sight-reading at conferences such as the Big Ten Academic Alliance music education conferences and Suncoast Symposium XII.

Outside of school, Gayl enjoys travelling, reading non-fiction, and spending time with family and friends.
