On Friday 30 November, 2018, students across the whole of Senior School were lucky enough to take part in workshops with mathematician Zoe Griffiths. Zoe is a former maths teacher from the UK and now works in maths communication. Her presentations were full of questions and laughter as she shared the birthday paradox with Year 10, constructed dodecahedrons with Year 12, explained how smoke rings were formed with Years 7 and 8, and performed mathematical magic with Year 9. The students had a glimpse into real-life mathematics and gained appreciation for the power of logical thinking. The maths department were proud to welcome Zoe to the College and are excited to welcome many more visitors throughout the year.
