Relevant Experience

Sharon joined Dulwich College (Singapore) in January 2020. She is a graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music where she studied violin performance with the Polish violinist Wanda Wilkomirska. Sharon has been a specialist violin teacher in Sydney, teaching in both public and private schools, and is also an experienced conductor specialising in conducting children’s string orchestras. She has directed small ensembles, winning numerous ‘Eisteddfods’ and competitions that led to invitations to perform at the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Town Hall.

In 2001 Sharon participated in masterclasses with the renowned Finnish Maestro Jorma Panula as part of Symphony Australia’s Young Conductor’s Programme. In 2011 she was invited to join the artistic staff at Sydney Youth Orchestra and was appointed as one of the conductors in the Junior Strings Programme.

In addition to teaching and conducting, Sharon has been an active performing violinist since an early age. In 2000 she took part in the Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra’s Fellowship Programme. She has also given recitals and performed with a number of orchestras and chamber ensembles in Australia.
