Leading with Inclusion: A Student-Led Collaboration Across Schools

Earlier this month, over 120 students from Dulwich College (Singapore) and The Winstedt School (TWS) came together for a meaningful pilot event centred around inclusion, empathy and student leadership.
The collaboration was inspired by the Ikigai Project CCA in our Senior School, which encourages students to explore where their passions and skills meet the needs of the world. Guided by this ethos, students from Years 7, 8, 11, and 12 joined senior student leaders from TWS to co-design and run a series of inclusive STEAM and sport-based activities.
From LEGO and art to hands-on science experiments and team sports, the afternoon offered something for everyone. Mixed groups of students from both schools worked together to promote teamwork, communication, and peer-to-peer learning in a warm, supportive environment.
It was a joyful and purpose-driven afternoon. Our Junior School students had the opportunity to grow in confidence and collaboration, while our older students displayed impressive leadership, initiative and empathy. In particular, they benefited from the mentorship of TWS student leaders, who shared valuable insights on creating truly inclusive experiences.
This event not only strengthened ties between our two schools but also reflected the power of student-led learning and inclusive values in action. We extend our sincere thanks to the staff, students, and leadership of The Winstedt School for their generosity, collaboration and shared vision. We look forward to building on this partnership in future initiatives.
