Relevant Experience
James joined Dulwich College (Singapore) in August 2018 and has worked as a Head of Music in schools in Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia and the UK.
James began his teaching career as a peripatetic teacher in New Zealand and performing in a professional symphony orchestra. He was an active member of the Composers Association of NZ and the NZ Concert Band Association, being involved in the promotion of contemporary music and organisation of national music festivals. James is a published composer of music and has previously directed several choirs, wind orchestras and big bands.
Outside of school, he enjoys time with his family, is active as a middle-distance runner and has a passionate interest in Indonesian gamelan. He hopes one day to retire in Bali.
