Relevant Experience

Richard joined Dulwich College (Singapore) in August 2014 as an English teacher and Senior Teacher (Pastoral). Before moving to Singapore Richard was at Brighton College in Abu Dhabi where he was Head of the English Department in the Prep School for two years, preparing students for the Common Entrance examinations. The Independent Reading Programme Richard introduced at Brighton College was particularly successful in promoting the students' all-round literacy skills, as well as their interest and appreciation of English literature.

Before moving to Abu Dhabi Richard was Pastoral Deputy Head at Braeburn International School in Nairobi, Kenya, where he taught for nine years. As a keen sportsman himself, Richard has always been involved in coaching school teams, particularly football; Richard chaired the Nairobi Schools Football League for five years, and in 2008 took a select schools football team to Sweden to participate in the Gothia Youth World Cup.

Richard is joined in Singapore by his wife Joy and their two daughters Abigail and Kasyoka.
