Stationery Needs

Junior School:

We provide all stationery in school, but it is always useful for students to have a pencil case.

Students should have:

  • a named water bottle
  •  a named pencil case. 
  • 30cm ruler
  • Pens of different  colours, including blue and black
  • Pencils (at least 2)
  • Pencil sharpener
  • Eraser
  • 30cm ruler
  • Highlighters (at least 2 different colours)
  • Glue stick

In Years 5 and 6 protractors are useful, but we do have class sets.

 

Senior School:

Any books needed in lessons will be provided by the College as and when needed.

Senior School students are expected to come to school prepared for the school day. They are responsible for their own personal organisation.

 

Daily Equipment

As well as any books and other materials needed for learning, students should bring the following equipment to school each day:

Stationery:

  • Pens of different colours, with at least 3 different colours, including blue and black
  • Pencils (at least 2)
  • Pencil sharpener
  • Eraser
  • 30cm ruler
  • Highlighters (at least 2 different colours)
  • Glue stick
  • Geometry set (protractor, compass, 30/60 degree set square) (Year 9 and above)
  • A5 Journal for Year 12 and 13 only.   Students will keep a journal during USS to reflect on their academic and co-curricular experiences, supporting mindfulness and balance.

Technology:

  • Fully charged device for learning:
  • Lower Senior School: iPad plus case, keyboard and iPad pen/pencil
  • Middle Senior School/Upper Senior School: iPad plus case, keyboard and iPad pen/pencil or Macbook
  • Headphones/earphones
  • Device charger (Years 9 to 13 only)

Calculators (Years 9 to 13 only):

  • Students in Years 9 to 13 are expected to have two calculators: 
  • Graphical Display Calculator (for Mathematics): TI-Nspire CX-II Calculator - Currently available on Amazon Singapore – here.  To avoid technical issues, students must bring the calculator in its original packaging for first two weeks.  While other GDCs are permitted in exams, only this model is used for teaching due to time constraints and differences between devices.
  • Scientific calculator (for use in subjects other than Mathematics). Suitable models are: Casio-fx 991 ES or Casio-fx 991 EX.

  • Refillable water bottle
  • Notebook / paper pad
  • Reading book

 

Mobile Phones and Smart Watches

We understand that many students own mobile phones and other personal electronic devices. Students who bring their mobile phones or other devices to school should ensure that they are switched off and kept in their bag or locker at all times from 8.00am to 3.35pm. The only exception to this rule is if they have been given permission by a teacher to use their phone as a learning tool in a specific lesson.

Smart watches may be worn but must not be used for messaging or connected functions at any time during the school day (8.00am to 3.35pm)

Students who are seen to be using a mobile phone or other personal electronic device in an unauthorised manner can expect to have their device confiscated.

In the first instance, the device will be handed to Senior School Reception for collection at the end of the day, and a Behaviour Point will be given. Repeated misuse of a mobile phone or other device may lead to an escalation of consequences.
