Relevant Experience

Beth joined Dulwich College (Singapore) in August 2020 and is guided by her desire to incite real, positive change in the world. Beth began her career reading Law (LLB) at the University of Bristol, however soon after graduating realised that a career in teaching had the greatest impact in shaping the lives of young people.

Beth trained to be a teacher through the Teach First Leadership Development Programme and subsequently taught KS3, KS4 and KS5 English at two inner-city secondary schools in the West Midlands. During this time, she held the roles of Strategic Lead of Raising Standards in Years 7 and 8, as well as Innovator of English.

In a move to Singapore with her partner in 2018, Beth combined her love of teaching, enthusiasm for travelling and experiencing new cultures in a teaching post at The Winstedt School. Here Beth spent two years establishing, planning and delivering a brand-new English Language and Literature iGCSE curriculum to a senior school with a high proportion of students with additional educational, social and emotional needs.

Originally a native of Cornwall, Beth misses the breezy beaches of Sennen and has replaced her regular enjoyment of running along the coast with the hot and humid flora and fauna of Bukit Timah Nature Reserve.
