Dulwich College (Singapore) Introduces New Applicant Pool Admissions Process

At Dulwich College (Singapore), we are always seeking ways to improve the admissions experience for our prospective families. As part of these efforts, we are excited to announce a significant change to our admissions process. We have moved from rolling admissions to an applicant pool system––bringing more transparency, efficiency, and best of all, no more waitlists.

Why the Change?

Our previous rolling admissions process often resulted in long waitlists for families eager to secure a place for their child at Dulwich College (Singapore). Our new applicant pool system removes the need for waitlists, while still ensuring all applicants are evaluated fairly based on their potential to thrive within our school community. This gives each family an equal chance at admission each year.

How It Works

Families are invited to submit their applications by set deadlines in the academic year prior to the year of entry. For this academic year, those deadlines are 31 October 2024 and 1 March 2025. Each application is then reviewed according to our existing admissions criteria including academic performance, co-curricular involvement, and alignment with the values and ethos of Dulwich College (Singapore). Offers are then made to applicants in the pool in the month after each application deadline, ensuring a fair and balanced process.

Moving Mid-Year?

While our admissions cycle now follows specific deadlines, we understand that families may arrive in Singapore outside of our application timeframes. For this reason, we accept mid-year transfer applications outside of these deadlines on a case-by-case basis, depending on availability of places.

The Benefits

This new admissions system offers several key advantages for prospective families:

Fairness and Transparency: Applications are considered equally within each admissions cycle, following to our set admissions criteria. This removes the uncertainty of waitlists and provides clear timelines for families as to when they will receive an outcome to their application.

Selectivity and Balance: Simultaneous review of all applications allows us to strengthen the diversity of our student body. This helps us maintain the vibrant, inclusive community that is central to the Dulwich College (Singapore) experience.

Reduced Stress for Families: Families no longer need to worry about their child being placed on a waitlist. The process is now more predictable, with clear expectations.

What This Means for You

For prospective families, this change makes applying to Dulwich College (Singapore) more straightforward and transparent. When submitting your application by the set deadlines, you can be confident that your child’s application will be fully considered without the uncertainty of waitlists.

We believe this approach benefits both our prospective families and the Dulwich College (Singapore) community as a whole, helping us welcome students who contribute to the vibrant, dynamic environment that makes Dulwich College (Singapore) so special.
