Relevant Experience

Upon opening in August 2014, Mike Joined Dulwich College (Singapore) as a founding member of the teaching team in Year 5. Following two years as Assistant Head of Year and a member of the curriculum development team, Mike was promoted to Deputy Head of Junior School in 2016. Mike’s responsibilities include the leadership of curriculum and assessment, line management of the Junior Mandarin Department, and overview of the Student Support Services.

Prior to arriving in Singapore, Mike taught at Taipei European School for eight years, including experience in both Key Stages One and Two. He was the Primary Literacy Leader and the Coordinator for CIS/WASC Accreditation. Mike also led an inquiry approach to learning, with a focus on environmental stewardship.

During his time in Taipei, Mike met his wife, Stacey, and this was a key factor in him learning to speak Mandarin. Stacey works as a Mandarin teacher at Dulwich College (Singapore). The importance the College places on learning Mandarin is one of the many reasons that, together with their children, Kai and Saffron, they are proud to be a part of the Dulwich Family.
