It was during this period that she developed an interest in early language acquisition and multilingualism and has since then continued to work in schools that have a mix of nationalities and languages and a diverse culture.

At her last school in London Emilia took on a lead as Phonics and Literacy Co-ordinator for Lower Primary School and trained as a '˜Forest School' Leader to bring Scandinavian-style Outdoor Learning to her Inner-city school. Three years ago she made her first step overseas to JIS International School, Brunei, where she continued to work with Early Years and helped develop the department. In that time Emilia had the opportunity to visit other International schools in the region by participating in Early Years FOBISSEA workshops.

Emilia has worked as a volunteer teacher in a Primary School in Mombasa, Kenya, lived in Spain and Mexico, and travelled extensively in Asia, East Africa and Latin America. She is fluent in Spanish and as a linguist is especially interested in the most effective ways of learning languages.

Home in the UK is Sussex, with family and relatives also in Spain. Emilia's interests outside school include riding, diving, Polo, travel, languages, and cooking.
