What is your favourite/ are some of your favourite memories of working at DCSG?

When I began working at Dulwich College (Singapore) in 2014, my first cohort were four-year-old Reception children. I remember seeing the children pick up Mandarin as if they were native, like they were born with it, and this made my whole world shine. The joy I feel when children start using Mandarin to communicate their feelings with me is worth every minute of teaching. I love seeing many of the children I first taught, now our Year 9 students, around the College - some of them are taller than me! They have grown up into such happy young adults and hearing them talking to me in Mandarin confidently makes me so proud of them, and proud of my colleagues from DUCKS, Junior School and Senior School who have all helped to build a love of learning in them.

Why is Dulwich College (Singapore) special to you?

The College is such a culturally diverse community, and we place great importance on celebrating many different cultural festivals of our students and staff. The highlight of the year for me is the whole College Lunar New Year reunion dinner. I can imagine the bustling atmosphere even now, with over 400 staff dining together, singing, dancing and laughing! The Year of the Dragon celebration this past February was so much fun and I even won one of the lucky draws!

As founding parents, the College is very special to my family too! My son Felix joined the College on the very first day the doors opened in 2014, and has happily spent his entire Senior School life at the College. He graduated in 2021 and is still in close contact with many of his peers.

Is there a message or reflection you'd like to share with the school's students and their families as part of this celebration?

In the past years, I have witnessed so many of our students excel in their areas of interest. I am so touched that their successes are always made known among the community and celebrated by all of us. I truly believe there is no limit to what you can achieve at Dulwich College (Singapore).
