What is your favourite/ are some of your favourite memories of working at DCSG?
The fun Personal Learning Development (PLD) sessions, our Away Days, and bonding over coffee with our peers. Seeing the fruition of the College’s Guiding Statements as they have come to life!
Why is Dulwich College (Singapore) special to you?
The culture of PLD within the College and best practice sharing across the group. I've been fortunate to experience first-hand the College evolve from its entrepreneurial spirit of early days to the College's current status. It's a collection of fond memories of hard-work, unity in overcoming challenges together with dedicated peers to the current stage of continuing greater progress. We are going from good to great!
What are your hopes and aspirations for the school's future as it enters its second decade?
Innovative learning is essential, as the College fully embraces its internationalism and commitment to global citizenship, and AI is going to play a big part in this and in our students’ lives in the future.
I’m not sure how that would translate into an actual CCA or curriculum but that would be a start.
In what ways have you seen the students and alumni's lives positively impacted by their experiences at the school? Are there any specific success stories that come to mind?
I had the experience of having Year 12 students shadow the College finance team for three weeks of work experience. It was amazing to see how fast and adaptable our students are with technology.
One of the things I did was to share with the students the basic concept of Power Automate, a free app within Office365, where they could develop a work flow, learning from the Microsoft online community. This is certainly a great start in the world of oncoming AI in our lives, and important that they understand how they can use these tools responsibly to meet their objectives.
Is there a message or reflection you'd like to share with the school's students and their families as part of this celebration?
Be the best version of yourself to help you achieve what matters to you most! As philosophical as it sounds, it’s for real. 😊
