What is your favourite/ are some of your favourite memories of working at DCSG?

I was one of the first teachers employed by the College and we would often walk past the site and watch how its construction had progressed as I lived very close to the school. On the opening day, when I reached the site, my jaw dropped! From an empty plot to what we now had was a beautiful, cozy building which was so welcoming!

A memory close to my heart was when the Junior School block was inaugurated. We had our local Minister, Dr. Any Khor, cut the ribbon, and a team of percussionists played a beautiful melody. I was totally awestruck! And to top it off confetti fell from the sky on us, it was just beautiful.

I still remember the day when I saw fireworks at such close quarters at Dulwich. It was out first Founder’s Day and the whole school, including parents, witnessed the most beautiful display of fireworks there ever was to see!

Why is Dulwich College (Singapore) special to you?

Dulwich is one place I look forward to come to each day. I enjoy my time here, I love the work environment, I love what I do. The community at Dulwich is amazing.

10 years is a long time in many ways, but a relatively short amount of time in which to establish DUCKS, a Junior School and a Senior School. I have seen the school grow and blossom into what it is now. It is a very important part of my life and it is very special to me.

What are your hopes and aspirations for the school's future as it enters its second decade?

I really hope that the school maintains its standing as one of the best international school in Singapore. I hope that the ethos of the school will remain as it is. I hope the values of Dulwich – innovative learning, intercultural understanding, diversity, equity and inclusion, wellbeing, environment sustainability and social justice – grow from strength to strength.

The second decade should be about developing our strengths even more and covering the gaps, if any, and growing from glory to glory!

In what ways have you seen the students and alumni's lives positively impacted by their experiences at the school? Are there any specific success stories that come to mind?

In the 10 years I have known Dulwich, I have come to appreciate the hard work the community here puts in to make it the best international school in Singapore. But more than that I can see how our children’s lives are better for the values that Dulwich has cultivated in them. I would like to assure the parents when you hand your children over to us in the morning you can be sure that their day will be spent meaningfully and they will return to you happier, more knowledgeable and positive.
