What is your favourite/ are some of your favourite memories of working at DCSG?

One of my favourite memories of working at DCSG was right before the opening in August 2014. Everyone was busy, but we were all happy to cover for each other, even outside of our departments if we needed to. At one point, I was working as an Admissions officer, but I covered for a school nurse and for a Mandarin teacher when they were off on medical leave. We were multi-tasking and being multi-skilful – it was a busy time but a lot of fun and we made lifelong friends in the process. Another favourite memory of working here comes to me when I look out the window onto the sports field – it reminds me of what it used to look like 10 years ago. The field was once a concrete floor surrounded by construction blocks where the Senior School campus finally took shape. We used to park our car there, and without fail, at the end of every day, there was always a proper Singapore thunderstorm taking place, and we would dash to the car to make sure we got home to the children.

Why is Dulwich College (Singapore) special to you?

I’m so proud to see how much it has grown since it opened ten years ago and I feel very fortunate to work with and have watched so many talented students develop skills in sports, art, music and performance at the College. Seeing them progressing on their academic journey, sometimes with scholarships to another outstanding school, brings me so much pride and “姨母笑“ to my face. What I love most is when they come back to visit and update us on what they’ve been doing since they left.

What are your hopes and aspirations for the school's future as it enters its second decade?

My hope is that the College continues to do what it does best in offering our students the perfect combination of sports, music, drama and academic excellence, to nurture the compassionate global citizens we need in the world today.

In what ways have you seen the student’s and alumni's lives positively impacted by their experiences at the school? Are there any specific success stories that come to mind?

There are so many successful stories, and I am sure there will be more to come. It is lovely when you see a student graduate and then come back to share how they are thriving at university or where they moved onto. This makes me so proud of what they have achieved and what amazing young adults they have turned into.

Is there a message or reflection you'd like to share with the school's students and their families as part of this celebration?

I am incredibly proud to be part of the founding staff who helped contribute to the College’s growth. It is also important for us to credit the founding families who took a leap of faith in us and entrusted us with their children all those years ago. Together, we have achieved so much in ten years, and I am confident the school will only continue to build on our success and that of our students for many years to come.
